As part of Legal Aid’s strategic plan, in 2019, we hired St. Paul, MN-based economic research firm The Improve Group to conduct a study of the economic benefits and savings to both the state of West Virginia and to individual clients as a result of the civil legal services we provide. We wanted to understand the effects civil legal aid had on our communities as a whole—benefits that extend not just to our clients but to all of us.
