LAWV Needs You for its Board of Directors!

Make a Difference in Justice Services Across West Virginia

Are you passionate about justice and community service?

  • Do you want to help shape legal services in West Virginia?
  • Are you interested in learning more about the legal system and available community resources?
  • Would you like training on how to serve effectively on a nonprofit Board?

Legal Aid of West Virginia (LAWV) is seeking two Community members to join its Board of Directors.

We’re looking for individuals from the Clarksburg, Elkins, or Huntington regions who are committed to LAWV’s mission of “seeking justice, changing lives.” Whether you’re a student, retiree, or community champion, your voice matters.

What You Need to Know:

  • Eligibility: Community members of LAWV’s Board must be income-eligible to receive LAWV services at the time of appointment.
  • Connection to Community: Ideal candidates have lived or professional experience with issues like:
    • Housing stability
    • Economic sustainability
    • Protection from family violence
    • Elder financial exploitation
    • Child well-being and school success
  • Term: Three-year term with the possibility of renewal.
  • Support: National and local training opportunities provided, with expenses covered.
