Yes. The food you purchased with SNAP may be replaced. However, you are only able to replace 1 month’s worth of food.

Yes. You have to contact DHHR to report the loss of food and request replacement of food. You have to use the DFA-SNAP-36 form, which is found here, very quickly following the natural disaster.

Money for replacement of food will be put into your EBT account, which you will then be able to use to purchase more food. Once the replacement money is on your EBT card, the same rules apply as for your normal use of your monthly SNAP payment.

No, there is no deadline for requesting a new EBT card.

First, make sure that your current address is reported to your DHHR worker at least the day before requesting a new card. There are two ways to request a new EBT card.

1. Call the EBT Helpline at 1-866-545-6502.

• When asked for your 16 digit card number, do nothing. You will then be asked to press 1 on the telephone keypad to report your card stolen or missing.
• When asked for the date of birth, enter the date of birth for the Benefit Payee Cardholder.
• When asked for the social security number, enter your social security number only if you are the Benefit Payee Cardholder. If you are an Authorized Cardholder, enter nine zeros.

2. Contact the DHHR Customer Service Center at 1-877-716-1212.

It will take at least 5 to 7 days after you submit your request to receive a new EBT card.
